LG Electronics Philippines Opens 2026 LG Ambassador Challenge, Invites Healthcare and Medical Aid Project Proposals

LG Electronics Philippines has officially launched the 2026 LG Ambassador Challenge, calling on social innovators, nonprofit organizations, community advocates, and grassroots leaders nationwide to submit project proposals focused on improving healthcare access and delivering medical assistance to underserved Filipino communities.

The initiative reinforces LG’s continued investment in meaningful corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs that support long-term community development while empowering local changemakers to implement sustainable solutions.

Strengthening Communities Through the LG Ambassador Challenge

The LG Ambassador Challenge is a flagship CSR program introduced in the Philippines in 2022 through a partnership between LG Electronics Philippines and Korea Friends of Hope International (KFHI). The program provides funding, technical support, and mentorship opportunities to individuals and organizations proposing impactful community-based projects.

Guided by LG’s global brand philosophy, “Life’s Good,” the initiative promotes inclusive growth by encouraging communities to actively identify their most urgent needs and develop practical, innovative solutions that create lasting social benefits.

“Through the LG Ambassador Challenge, we are able to work closely with communities and partners to support initiatives that create real and sustainable change,” said Nakhyun Seong, Managing Director of LG Electronics Philippines.

“By empowering individuals and organizations with resources and support, we hope to help build better lives and stronger communities, in line with LG’s commitment to innovation and social responsibility,” Seong added.

2026 Focus: Expanding Medical Aid and Community Healthcare Access

For its 2026 edition, LG Electronics Philippines is prioritizing proposals that address medical aid programs, healthcare delivery improvements, and community health infrastructure in marginalized or underserved areas across the country.

Applications and project submissions will be accepted from February 10 to February 28, 2026. LG is particularly looking for initiatives that demonstrate:

• Long-term sustainability
• Strong community participation
• Measurable social impact
• Innovative healthcare or medical assistance strategies

The company aims to support projects that can deliver scalable and replicable solutions capable of improving healthcare outcomes in local communities.

Track Record of Impactful Community Projects

Since its Philippine launch, the LG Ambassador Challenge has supported several transformative social programs that addressed healthcare, education, environmental sustainability, and disaster recovery.

2025: Maternal and Child Healthcare Expansion

In 2025, LG supported the Programa para sa Alagang Ina at Sanggol, a maternal and child healthcare program that significantly strengthened health services in Barangay Tres Cruses, Tanza, Cavite.

Through infrastructure and resource improvements, the health center was able to expand patient services from a limited half-day operation to a full schedule accommodating up to 10 patients daily, effectively doubling its service capacity.

The project improved maternal healthcare access, prenatal support services, and child health monitoring in the community.

2024: Mobile Education Access Through “Life’s Good Library On the Go”

In 2024, LG funded the Life’s Good Library On the Go project in Nagcarlan, Laguna. The initiative introduced a mobile library designed to bring books, learning tools, and educational resources directly to children in underserved communities.

The project strengthened literacy development, encouraged reading habits, and promoted interactive educational experiences among young learners.

2023: Multi-Sector Community Development Projects

The 2023 winners implemented several community-focused projects that addressed infrastructure and livelihood sustainability:

• Life is Good, When Life Has Light – Installation of solar-powered streetlights in Calauan, Laguna, improving nighttime safety and accessibility.

• Flowing Water for Growing Future – Enhanced clean water accessibility in Lawaguin, Laguna, improving sanitation and public health conditions.

• Paliparan Community Livelihood Program – Introduced sustainable income opportunities for local residents.

2022: Inaugural Projects Supporting Healthcare and Disaster Recovery

During its first year, the LG Ambassador Challenge supported two major humanitarian initiatives:

• Ride for Hope by Bahay Aruga – Provided an ambulance service dedicated to pediatric cancer patients in Manila, improving emergency healthcare transport and treatment accessibility.

• Roof for Siargao by Red Charity Gala – Assisted disaster-stricken communities in Siargao by supporting housing reconstruction following severe typhoon damage.

Encouraging Filipino Innovators and Community Leaders

LG Electronics Philippines is encouraging local organizations, healthcare advocates, social entrepreneurs, and nonprofit leaders with creative and sustainable project ideas to participate in this year’s challenge.

By supporting grassroots initiatives, LG aims to help bridge healthcare accessibility gaps while empowering local communities to take ownership of long-term development programs.

The company continues to emphasize collaboration between private corporations, nonprofit organizations, and local stakeholders as a key driver of sustainable social progress.

How to Apply for the 2026 LG Ambassador Challenge

Interested applicants are required to submit their project proposals using the official Entry Form Format, which can be downloaded through the official link or accessed via: https://bit.ly/2026LGACEntryForm

Completed entries, inquiries, and supporting documents may be submitted through email at: mktg.ph@lge.com

LG encourages early submission to ensure eligibility and timely evaluation of project proposals.

Driving Long-Term Social Impact Through Innovation

The LG Ambassador Challenge continues to serve as a platform that empowers Filipino communities to design and implement solutions addressing critical social challenges.

Through its sustained investment in CSR initiatives, LG Electronics Philippines aims to strengthen community resilience, improve public healthcare accessibility, and support programs that promote inclusive national development.

“Take the first step toward creating a lasting impact — be part of the change and help make Life’s Good for your community,” LG Electronics Philippines emphasized in its call for participation.

Suzuki Philippines Strengthens Commitment to Environmental Stewardship with Pawikan Release in Bataan | Suzuki Philippines reaffirmed its commitment to environmental conservation through a meaningful Pawikan (sea turtle) release activity held at the Pawikan Conservation Center in Morong, Bataan. The activity brought together Suzuki Philippines leaders and team members in support of marine wildlife protection and sustainability.

Leading the activity were Mr. Norihide Takei, Director and General Manager of Suzuki Philippines’ Automobile Division, Mr. Ira Valte, National Sales Manager, and Mr. Jeff Lopez, Brand Communications Group Head of the Automobile Division, together with members of Suzuki Philippines’ Marketing and Brand Communications teams. The group participated in releasing rescued Pawikan hatchlings into the sea — a symbolic and heartfelt moment highlighting the importance of collective action in protecting the environment.

The hatchlings released during the activity came from Pawikan nests adopted by Suzuki Philippines during its first visit to the conservation center as part of the Suzuki Fronx media and bank partners drive. During that earlier visit, Suzuki Philippines also donated a Suzuki Jimny to support the center’s conservation and coastal monitoring efforts. The vehicle was formally turned over to Mr. Aurelio Llenarez, President of the Pawikan Conservation Center, together with Ms. Angeline Vigo, Manager of the Pawikan Conservation Center.

According to the Pawikan Conservation Center, their conservation efforts have yielded encouraging results. Out of 100 nests, a total of 9,468 Pawikan eggs were safely secured. From these, 8,713 baby turtles successfully hatched, demonstrating the impact of sustained conservation work and community partnerships.

During the visit, Suzuki Philippines team members experienced firsthand the conservation process by carefully digging through protected nests to collect newly emerged hatchlings before releasing them into the sea. As the sun set over the West Philippine Sea, the group released the baby turtles along the shoreline — a powerful and emotional reminder of the shared responsibility to protect nature for future generations.

The activity reflects Suzuki Philippines’ brand philosophy, “By Your Side,” which extends beyond mobility solutions to supporting communities, protecting the environment, and contributing to meaningful causes. Through its partnership with the Pawikan Conservation Center, Suzuki Philippines continues to play an active role in marine conservation and environmental awareness.

Suzuki Philippines looks forward to strengthening this partnership through more collaborative initiatives that will help protect Pawikan populations and preserve the country’s coastal ecosystems.

By working together with organizations like the Pawikan Conservation Center, Suzuki Philippines remains committed to being by the side of communities, nature, and future generations.

MANILA — Energy Secretary Sharon Garin emphasized the continued importance of natural gas in the Philippines’ energy transition after a new reservoir was discovered at Malampaya East 1 (MAE-1), located roughly five kilometers east of the existing Malampaya gas field. The Department of Energy (DOE) said the newly identified reservoir is estimated to hold about 98 billion cubic feet of natural gas, with initial testing indicating a flow rate of 60 million cubic feet per day, along with associated condensate. The discovery represents the first major achievement under the Malampaya Phase 4 Drilling Campaign, which also covers the Camago and Bagong Pag-asa wells being developed under Service Contract 38. The project is led by Prime Energy Resources Development B.V.The DOE noted that the milestone was delivered by a fully Filipino-led team composed of UC38, PNOC Exploration Corporation, and Prime Oil and Gas Inc.”This milestone is a testament to the world-class capability of Filipino engineers in securing our country’s energy future,” Garin said in a statement.Garin described natural gas as a “critical bridge in our energy mix,” noting its role in maintaining power reliability while the country accelerates the expansion of renewable energy, energy storage systems, and grid modernization.”We will pursue this opportunity with discipline: maximizing value for Filipinos, upholding environmental stewardship, and ensuring that every milestone strengthens our national interest,” she added. In a separate statement, Prime Energy said the MAE-1 discovery increased Malampaya’s remaining recoverable gas volumes by an estimated 30 percent.”This gas discovery is a victory for the Filipino people,” the company said. “When we assumed operatorship, we committed to the President and the nation to breathe new life into Malampaya and revitalize the indigenous natural gas sector. Today, we are delivering on that commitment.”Prime Energy also expressed appreciation to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for approving the extension of Service Contract 38 and for the passage of the Philippine Natural Gas Industry Development Act, which the company said provides stability and confidence for continued natural gas exploration.
Globe is enhancing its network resiliency in typhoon-prone South Luzon and Bicol regions through the adoption of sustainable Battery Charging Hubs. These regions, once hit by typhoons, would normally lose mobile signal and internet services due to prolonged commercial power outages.

With the new battery charging facilities, Globe can ensure that the backup batteries powering its cell sites remain in optimal condition. By enabling quick testing, recharging, and replacement of units, the hubs minimize downtime and help maintain reliable mobile service even during emergencies and extended power interruptions.

This initiative is especially critical in South Luzon and Bicol, where communities are often exposed to severe weather disturbances that disrupt communication lines. By keeping vital systems running, the hubs help ensure that residents can continue working, studying, and staying in touch with loved ones without interruption.

“Connectivity is a vital part of people’s everyday lives. That is why we strive to keep our cell sites operational, especially when disasters strike. We’re making sure that communities can count on Globe to stay connected no matter the situation,” said Joel Agustin, Senior Vice President for Network Planning and Engineering at Globe.

Battery Charging Hubs are now operational in San Pablo, Laguna, and Batangas, with deployment also underway in Pili, Camarines Sur. Additional facilities are being prepared in Mindoro, Palawan, Marinduque, and Romblon.

Each hub can refresh multiple batteries per week, ensuring a steady supply of fully charged units ready for deployment. Personnel across all locations have been trained to manage battery recovery and maintenance, detect issues early, and help prevent service interruptions.

From a broader perspective, this initiative supports Globe’s commitment to sustainability practices. As the company increases the use of renewable energy in its operations, the hubs further contribute to building a more energy-efficient and environmentally responsible network.
