TCI and NTC Launch SIMon, the new Ambassador for Mobile Number Portability | Manila, Philippines — June 22, 2026 — Telecommunications Connectivity Inc. (TCI), the joint venture of DITO Telecommunity, Globe Telecom, and Smart Communications, in partnership with the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), officially introduced SIMon, the newest ambassador for Mobile Number Portability (MNP).
SIMon is designed as a friendly and engaging character to lead TCI’s information and education initiatives, making MNP messages more accessible to the public. Through digital campaigns and community engagements, SIMon will encourage subscribers to learn more about their right to switch mobile providers while keeping their existing numbers.
“SIMon embodies our mission to make Mobile Number Portability simple, approachable, and empowering for every Filipino subscriber,” said Ms. Melanie Manuel, TCI General Manager.
“The launch of SIMon reflects our shared commitment to uphold the Mobile Number Portability Act and ensure that its benefits are fully realized by the public,” said NTC Commissioner Atty. Ella Blanca A. Lopez.
MNP is a free service that allows mobile subscribers to keep their existing mobile number when switching from one mobile network provider to another.
